ALHAMBRA SHISHA LOUNGE (CLOSED)
This restaurant in Lan Kwai Fong is also a shisha and cigar lounge. There's also a great outdoor terrace!
BABY BUDDHA
This little red outdoor/indoor bar is squeezed into an small alley in between buildings. It's so unique, it really works! The crowd is fun and bohemian.
BUDDHA LOUNGE
Buddha lounge is a groovy South-East Asian themed bar which has one of the most blasting sound systems in Hong Kong.
CLIQ (Closed)
Not that many 'clubs' in Hong Kong feel like a real nightclub. With it's black walls, dark lighting, massive dancefloor and raised DJ platform Cliq fits the nightclub bill.
CLUB 71
Tucked away in a cool alley in Soho, this cozy chill-out bar is a magnet for philosophers, bohemians and artists. There's a quirky and colorful interior as well as a few outdoor tables.
CULTURE CLUB GALLERY
The Culture Club is a unique venue. It's a gallery, live music venue, Argentinean tango dance floor and a café / restaurant all in one.
FRINGE CLUB
Fringe Club can be the pioneer of art/restaurants in Hong Kong. Situated at the top corner of Lan Kwai Fong, the Fringe Club definitely lives up to its mission – providing a platform (doubtless in amazing location) for art and cultural interaction.
GECKO LOUNGE AND WINE BAR
This small but lively venue has live jazz nights and real absinthe. The crowd is arty and there's a big contingent of Frenchies.
ICE VODKA BAR AT BALALAIKA (Closed)
This novelty ice bar on the way up to Wyndham street from Lan Kwai Fong is worth a vodka shot stop and is a good photo op.
INSENSES (BASSMENT)
Insenses (also known as bassment) is a basement bar at a convenient location. The tiny place has decent electronic dance music, attracting young hipsters during weekends.
JOYCE IS NOT HERE
An artist bar which has open-mic nights, live jams and creative gatherings. Serves brunch on weekends.
LINQ
Pottinger Street is full of arty bars and this is one of them. Narrow, lofty and earthy, this bar attracts a chilled crowd of 20 to 30 somethings.
MAKUMBA
This African bar has such a great atmosphere, it's a good place to come for a campy drink despite the random crowd. It's also a fun place to shake your tushie African-style. It's a good 'date' bar.
PARADISO (CLOSED)
Paradiso is the grooviest and most unique beachfront venue in Hong Kong. Step inside Paradiso and you feel like you’ve entered a fantastical Flintstones-era aquarium.
RACKS
A Manhattan-style billards hall for artists ,bohemians and DJ types. Oh yes, models and local and international celebs sometimes come here to chill out and shoot a game of pool.
ROCK SCHOOL
This spacious live music venue channels the spirit of rock, punk and alternative music. It's the only place of its kind in town!
SAHARA
This colorful venue seems to be lively every night of the week. The ambience of Sahara is very festive with it’s pink stucco walls, Morroccan lamps, jovial middle-eastern music blasting in the background.
SENSE 99
Housed in a really cool old pre-war building, this underground bar is only open on weekends and special occasions. The atmosphere is raw, eclectic and somewhat vintage. Musicians regularly come here for impromptu jam sessions.
SOHO CORNER
This neighborhood dive bar, with it's open facade is one of the best places in Soho to people watch. You'll find yourself lingering longer than expected.
SOIREE
This intimate, romantic and elegant bar has a look evocative of old Europe. The décor at Soiree features dark wood floors, sexy black leather couches, gold gilt mirrors, crystal chandeliers, big flower arrangements and a few outdoor seats.
